  • （２）To carry out work related to projects conducted by the Foundation
  • （３）To respond to inquiries to the Foundation
  • （４）To make use of personal information for other purposes as specified at the time of acquisition
  • （５）To respond to requests based on laws and regulations or notifications and guidance from administrative authorities

４. Management of Personal Information

We shall thoroughly and completely manage the personal information in the following manner.

  • （１）We maintain the accuracy of personal information and manage it securely.
  • （２）We take appropriate information security measures against unauthorized access, computer viruses, etc. to prevent the loss, destruction, falsification, or leakage of personal information.
  • （３）We will not take personal information outside of its proper control and will not leak it by transmitting it outside the Foundation.
  • （４）When we share personal information or entrusts the handling of personal information to a third party, we will exercise necessary and appropriate supervision to ensure that the party handling the personal information complies with (1), (2) and (3) above.

５. Notification and publication of purpose of use

In acquiring and using personal information, we will notify or publicly announce the purpose of use of such information to the person concerned, unless otherwise stipulated by law.

６. Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

We will not provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the individual, except as required by law. However, in the following cases, we may provide personal information without the consent of the individual to the extent that it does not violate related laws and regulations.

  • （１）When the provision of personal information is based on laws and regulations
  • （２）When there is a need to protect the life, body or property of a person and it would be difficult to obtain the consent of the relevant person
  • （３）When there is a particular need to improve public health or promote the healthy development of children and it would be difficult to obtain the relevant person’s consent
  • （４）When it is necessary to cooperate with a government organization, local government body or individual entrusted by such entities in performing duties prescribed by laws and regulations and there is a risk that obtaining the consent of the relevant person would interfere with the performance of said duties
  • （５）When the third party to which the personal data is provided is an academic research institution, etc., and it is necessary for said third party to handle said personal data for academic research purposes (including cases where part of the purpose of handling personal data is for academic research purposes, but excluding cases where there is a risk of unjustified infringement of individual rights and interests).

７. Disclosure, Correction, Suspension of Use, and Deletion of Personal Information

If we receive a request from an individual to disclose, add to, correct, or delete his/her personal information, or to discontinue its use or erase it, we will promptly respond to the request after conducting the necessary investigation, including verification of the individual's identity.

８. Use of Statistical Data

We may compile and analyze the personal information it collects and create statistical data, etc., after processing it in such a way that individuals cannot be identified. We may use statistical data, etc. that cannot be used to identify individuals without any restrictions.

９. Maintain and continue efforts to comply with laws and regulations

We will manage the policies and systems for the protection of personal information properly, and continuously review and improve in response to changes in the content of our business, as well as changes in laws and regulations, the social environment, and the IT environment surrounding our projects.
